Key gaps identified through research and current data led to innovative solutions to close the gaps through prevention. The Connection Coordinator Project aids the large number of families and children in crisis who are waiting for guidance and helps prevent children going into the Foster Care System. Collaborating with IL Youth Leaders to bring cohesiveness and further close the gaps found in transitioning young adults. Also hearing directly from transitioning young adults on specific action items within OAKS and their lived experiences are the current targets in this Pillar. 

OAKS establishes recommended policies or solutions based on data, research, and those in the field or specifics that continue to surface at our Round Tables in what is seen in this line of work. From the DJJ system, to homelessness, housing, or equitable funding are the current targets in this Pillar. 

OAKS development and implementation of Bank Accounts now available for 13 -17 year olds Foster Youth in our circuit . OAKS Keys for Success Program to connect resources, educate and connect with IL Youth. Connecting individuals with what is already currently being worked on so we are not duplicating or reinventing the wheel for our counties in these areas and maximize stewardship with funds.
